I request approval of parking ordinance rescinding alternate parking on Jackson Street in Bethlehem Park. I have received numerous complaints from citizens on Jackson Street of problems with the existing alternate parking. The home value cap for veteran exemptions, as provided in the Real Property Tax Law is hereby increased from $80,000 to $120,000 The maximum exemptions allowable under subdivision 2 of Section 458-A of the Real Property Tax Law for the following classes of veterans is hereby increased as follows: For war veterans - $18,000 For combat veterans - $12,000 For disabled veterans - $60,000 THIS LOCAL LAW SHALL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY. Carried 5 - 0 Mobile HomesAn ordinance amending chapter 154, Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Courts of the Code of the City of Lackawanna, in relation to mobile home court compliance with storm water management regulations. Section 1 Statutory Authority. In accordance with Article 2-A of the General City Code, the City Council has the authority to protect property and preserve and care for the safety, health, comfort and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City and visitors, thereto; to regulate by ordinance any matter within the powers of the city, to provide penalties, forfeitures and imprisonment to punish violations thereof; and to maintain an action or special proceeding in a court of competent jurisdiction to compel compliance with or restrain by injunction the violation of any such ordinance. Section 2. Section 154-17J is amended by adding the following subsection: (3) Drainage facilities, storm water management facilities, and grading shall comply with any Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan required in accordance with Article XII of Chapter 230, Zoning of this Code. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect five days after it shall have been adopted by the City Council and after publication of the title and a brief description of this ordinance in the official newspaper of the City of Lackawanna.
