Signs/Posters in City Hall

Yeas: Haxton, Szymanski, Kulczyk, Schiavi, Jaworski. Carried 5 - 0
- 67 - Tree Planting between sidewalk and Street
There are two issues of concern. The first being that it is illegal to plant a tree between the sidewalk and the curb. In numerous areas I have seen new trees planted that then become the responsibility of the city. It costs the taxpayers money to remove these trees and replace the sidewalk. We will enforce the law. Secondly, there have been several clips on the local news stations regarding open fires in residential areas. Open burning is illegal under city law and also state law. These items should be passed on to our residents for their knowledge (note: this policy has been placed on the city’s website) NORMAN L. POLANSKI, MAYOR
Moved by Jaworski, seconded by Kulczyk to receive and file. Yeas: Haxton (abstained), Szymanski, Kulczyk, Schiavi, Jaworski. Carried 5 – 0

Sale of Property Offer – Donna Bandich
After numerous conversations with Ms. Bandich, I believe selling the vacant lot adjacent to her property is in the best interest of the city. It is her intent to pay for topsoil at her own expense, fence in the yard, thereby increasing the value of the property, while acquiring a lot owned by the city and not collecting monies from taxes, hence taking the responsibility off the city. There has been two years of abandonment on this property and lack of interest from any other party to purchase this non-buildable lot GEOFFREY SZYMANSKI, COUNCIL MEMBER
