2012 Winter Fest

 

The City of Lackawanna 2012 Winter Fest sponsored by the Lackawanna Youth Board is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Senior Center located at 230 Martin Road .

 

As in previous years, there will be the Hartland Carriage horse drawn wagon ride, music by the Nickel Road Show, children's activities and games.

 

Back by popular demand this year is the Nickel City Reptile and Exotics Outreach Program. The animal presentation is scheduled for 1:00 pm

 

The Super Stars and Little Twinklers violins group from the Global Concepts Charter School will play at 2:15 pm.

 

The Mayor's Bowl – our Chili Cook-Off will take place and provide tasty samples to those that attend. Hot dogs will be grilled outdoors and hot chocolate and coffee available.

FAMILY SWIN TO BEGIN JANUARY 23 RD IN LACKAWANNA 

The City of Lackawanna and the Lackawanna City School District announce that the annual family swim program will start on Monday, January 23 rd at the Senior High School pool from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.   The pool will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 pm from January 23 rd through March 21 st and each Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon from January 28 th through March 3 rd .   There will be no swim program when the Lackawanna Schools are closed for vacation or snow days.

The program is open to Lackawanna residents only.   Participants must have a valid Lackawanna Recreation Department identification card to participate.   For more information, contact the Recreation Department at 827-6455
